Ackman Sold Kraft (KFT) Stake to Buy Stake in P&G

William A. Ackman, owner of Pershing Square Capital Management LP, sold his Kraft Foods Inc. (NASDAQ:KFT) stake and purchased almost 21.9 million shares of Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE:PG)

Ackman also sold all of his shares in Family Dollar Stores Inc., as per reported by a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Tuesday that shows holdings on or after June 30.

Formerly Ackman’s Pershing Square possessed almost $589.4 million of Northfield, Illinois-located Kraft and $165.5 million of Matthews, North Carolina-located Family Dollar, as per data covered by Bloomberg. Pershing gave almost $1.34 billion for its stake in P&G.

Its competitors include Hillshire Brands Co (NYSE:HSH) having profit margin of 1.03% with overall market cap of 3.02 billion.

(NASDAQ:GMCR) with 9.58% profit margin and Monster Beverage Corp (NASDAQ:MNST) with 17.23% profit margin.

Kraft Foods Inc (NASDAQ:KFT) dropped -0.51% or -$0.21 to trading at $40.69 following it hit intra day high level of $40.94. The total traded volume in the current trading session is 1.73 million shares as compared to average 11.34 million shares. Its fifty two week trading range is $31.88 – $41.50. The total market capitalization reached $72.21 billion.
