Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE:APD) Fourth Quarter and 2013 Estimates Misses Forecasts; Stock Plunges – APD, PX, ARG, MCD

The Allentown, Pennsylvania-based Air Products & Chemicals, Inc (NYSE:APD) moved down to record low in over two and a half years after the world’s biggest hydrogen producer’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings and 2013 estimates lagged analysts’ forecasts.

Shares of Air Products fell 6.3% to settle in New York at $79.99.

Air Products reported in a statement on Friday that profit in quarter through September was $1.42 per share, without costs to restructure the corporation’s photovoltaic unit, exit the polyurethane intermediates unit and write down assets linked with a customer’s bankruptcy.

Air Products reported that profit in the 2013 fiscal year, which started Oct 1, will be $5.65 per share to $5.85 per share, comprising $1.26 to $1.31 per share in the primary fiscal quarter.
