American International (NYSE:AIG) Raised Around $2 Billion From Sale of AIA Group Stake– AIG, HIG, ACE, CB

American International Group, Inc (NYSE:AIG), based in New York, has added around $2 billion from the sale of part of its interest in Asian insurer AIA Group Ltd.

Insurance giant reported that he shares were priced at a small premium to AIA’s ending stock price on Thursday. Shares of the company was priced at 26.50 Hong Kong dollars or $3.42, which is lower than 1% more than the 26.30 Hong Kong dollars or $3.39 that AIA finished at Thursday on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

AIG now possessed around 14% interest in AIA, low from 19%. In March, American International Group sold $6 billion in AIA stock.
