The company’s eighth main private-equity fund would be lower than its precursor, which generated nearly $15 billion in 2008. The New York-located company, which was established in 1990, needs to officially start marketing the fund afterward this year, one of the person stated, who gave the information on the basis of anonymity as the information was private.
Apollo would be contending with companies like KKR & Co. (KKR) and Carlyle Group LP (CG) among intense competition for client money.
Its competitors include The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX) which has market capitalization of 16.73 billion with 1.23 million outstanding shares.
