Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) Files Separate Patent Infringement Claims

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc. just bought Motorola Mobility business filed independent claims of a federal judge’s June 22 order throwing away their joint patent- violation appeals.

US Circuit Judge Richard A Posner dismissed the firms’ appeals almost two weeks following he threw out each mobile- phone manufacturer’s harms theories and annulled a jury proceeding that had been slated for June 11 in Chicago’s federal court. The claim notices, which also included previous rulings, were filed there on Friday.

Motorola was accusing a claim that Cupertino, California- located Apple violated a cellular technology patent, while Apple claimed that Motorola violated its four patents.

Its competitors include Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) that surged 2.99% to $610.82 with the total traded volume of 6.46 million shares and Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) that dropped -2.57% to $18.60 with the total traded volume of 14.81 million shares.

Other technology stocks with bullish trend include United Microelectronics Corp (ADR) (NYSE:UMC) up 2.86% to $2.16, Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) up 1.27% to $5.59 and Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) up 1.21% to $15.91, whereas with bearish trend include Universal Display Corporation (NASDAQ:PANL) down -10.43% to $33.76, VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSEAMEX:VHC) down -9.10% to $35.25 and Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) down -7.57% to $1.71.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock reports on July 21, 2012 decreased -1.63% to the closing price of $604.30. Its fifty two week range was $353.02-$644.00. The total market capitalization remained $565.06 billion.
