Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) trying to Extend its Footprint In Asia – AAPL, RIMM, GOOG, MU, LEAP, AMAT, AONE, ATVI, FTR

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) is trying to gain footing in India by opening its retail stores in India following policy changes in the South Asian nation, but another government regulation might still halt the iPhone manufacturer from taking this crucial step.

A new law change lets foreign retailers in India to possess a 100% stake in stores that sell their branded goods, up from the earlier allowance of only 51 percent. While the Economic Times reported on Monday that Apple was, as a result, evaluating opening its own stores in the country, it will struggle to overcome an additional hitch. As The Wall Street Journal points out, under the new rules, foreign retailers have to source at least 30 percent of the value of their sales from local firms. Apple famously contracts most of its manufacturing process to Chinese companies.

Its competitors include Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:RIMM) that surged +5.15% to $8.27 with the total traded volume of 29.55 million shares and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) that dropped -0.82% to $755.96 with the total traded volume of 1.68 million shares.

(NASDAQ:LEAP) up +13.86% to $7.97 and Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT) up +0.31% to $11.16, whereas with bearish trend include A123 Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:AONE) down -3.17% to $0.29, Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI) down -0.27% to $11.08 and Frontier Communications Corp (NASDAQ:FTR) up -1.68% to $4.74.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) dropped -0.60% or -$3.95 to trading at $655.62 following it hit intra day high level of $666.35. The total traded volume in the current trading session is 12.30 million shares as compared to average 16.82 million shares. Its fifty two week trading range is $354.24 – $705.07. The total market capitalization reached $614.41 billion.

The stock price was ahead its 52 week low price with +86.11% and it lagged behind -6.89% from its 52 week maximum mark. Stock price volatility for last month remained 1.70%.
