The bid is almost 36% over Best Buy’s ending price on Aug 3 and the midpoint of the range gives the corporation an equity value of $8.5 billion.
The letter shows that Schulze, who held over 20 percent of Best Buy as of June, aims to contribute $1 billion in equity from that stake.
