The Chicago-based Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) lifted CEO Jim McNerney’s reward 20% to $27.5 million in previous year, before the world’s biggest plane maker’s marquee 787 Dreamliner was grounded by overheating batteries.
The Plane maker reported in proxy materials filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission that McNerney got $10.8 million of incentive pay as well as his $1.93 million salary and $840,775 in other reward. Jim McNerney earned $23 million in 2011.
Shares of the world’s biggest plane maker hiked 2.7% for 2012 lagged behind the 13% boost for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index.
Boeing stock hiked 2.1% to settle at $86.43 on Friday and marked the record high close since May 2008, after executives reported safety upgrades may allow commercial 787 flights to resume within weeks.
