Citigroup (NYSE:C) Picks Jonathan Larsen as Retail Banking Head – C, WFC, MS, GS

The New York-based Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) picked Hong Kong-based Jonathan Larsen to worldwide head of retail banking as Chief Executive Officer Vikram Pandit pushes deeper into Asia for revenue expansion.

Bloomberg News reported by mentioning an internal memo that the Larsen would keep his position as head of consumer banking for the Asia Pacific expanse. Citigroup, the third-largest United States lender, spokesperson Jon Diat confirmed the contents of the memorandum.

Pandit and worldwide consumer-banking head Manuel Medina-Mora are looking to boost profit by boosting lending in Asia and Latin America.

The bank reported in a quarterly presentation that Citigroup’s average loans to customers exterior to the United States climbed 23% to $136 billion in the 2 years finished March 31.
