The Bellevue, Washington-based Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ:CLWR) investor Crest Financial will ask the Federal Communications Commission to halt Sprint Nextel Corporation’s (NYSE:S) takeover of the company, in addition to a separate agreement between Sprint and Softbank Corp, mentioning they undermine the value of Clearwire’s airwaves.
General counsel for Houston-based Crest Financial David Schumacher reported on a conference call with reporters on Friday that the company aims to file its complaint with the Federal Communications Commission before the Jan 28 comment deadline on the two transactions.
David Schumacher further stated that the low price Sprint is getting for Clearwire’s spectrum could damage the value of other airwaves, making it an alarm for the FCC.
