The person, who refused to be identified as the matter is private, stated that NBC Universal was negotiating with The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and Hearst Corp, the other owners of A&E, the cable-TV corporation that comprises Lifetime and the History Channel.
The person further stated that a deal was close whereas negotiations have not concluded. A sale at that price would worth A&E at almost $19 billion.
