Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) has decided to acquire Cooper Industries plc (NYSE:CBE) in a cash and stock deal worth at almost $11.46 billion that is planned to increase its reach in the worldwide electrical power and distribution business.
The contract reported on Monday would make a company that produces products comprised a big range of electrical uses like power grids and lighting to electrical, hydraulic and transmission systems for vehicles and the military & aerospace industry.
The new corporation, probable to be named Eaton Global Corp, which would be incorporated in Ireland and headed by Eaton Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alexander Cutler.
ABB Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:ABB) advanced +3.00% to settle at $16.47, Powell Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:POWL) moved up +3.35% to end at $35.45 while Parker-Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH) surged + 2.67% to finish on Monday at $82.76.
Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) began the last trading session with a price of $42.85 and throughout the session climbed at a high of $43.37 but when day-trade ended the stock finally fell -0.73% to $42.09.
