First Solar, Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR), the world’s second biggest manufacturer of solar cells, will ramp up output at its German facility to fulfill an sudden boost in demand before the factories were closed at the end of 2012, according to a spokesperson on Tuesday.
Spokesman of United States-based First Solar stated that they expects that they can manage both factories at around full capacity until October and slowly lower production after that they shut them by the end of the year.
In April, First Solar reported that it would shut down its output site in Frankfurt, Germany, in the fourth quarter.
First Solar declared that ramping up the site, situated close to the Polish border and employing almost 1,200 staff, was because of strong demand in Europe and particularly Germany.
