General Motors (GM) Chief Donating His Corvette for Charity

General Motors Co. (NYSE:GM) Chief Executive Officer Dan Akerson intends to auction off his 1958 Chevrolet Corvette to generate money for charitable trust.

Akerson, who turned into CEO nearly two years back, wants to donate returns of the auction to Habitat for Humanity Detroit and its attempts to reconstruct an east side neighborhood named Morningside Commons, according to a GM report on. Auction details would be declared afterwards, the Detroit- located vehicle manufacturer stated.

Its competitors include Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) having profit margin of 13.28% with overall market cap of 36.58 billion and Toyota Motor Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:TM) that possessed profit margin 2.22% with total market cap of 130.33 billion.

Other consumer goods stocks include Sealed Air Corp (NYSE:SEE) having profit margin 0.07%, The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) with 11.13% profit margin, Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) having 1.47% profit margin, The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) having profit margin of 18.49%, PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE:PEP) with 9.08% profit margin and Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) with 5.10% profit margin.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) surge2.81% or +$0.60 to trading at $21.93 following it hit intraday high level of $22.14. The total traded volume in the current trading session is 12.57 million shares as compared to average 7.88 million shares. Its fifty two week trading range is $18.72 – $27.68. The total market capitalization reached $34.33 billion.

The stock price was ahead its 52 week low price with 13.94% and it lagged behind -22.94% from its 52 week maximum mark. Stock price volatility for last month remained 3.09%.
