General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) said on Thursday that it selected the CEO of oil firm ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) and the former CEO of engine-maker Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) to its board, and would surge to 14 its number of directors, according to a proxy statement filed by the firm.
The firm also reported that it paid CEO Dan Akerson $7.7 million in total reward for 2011, including $1.7 million in salary and $5.9 million in stock and cash related to the firm’s stock price. Mr. Akerson’s target reward was $9 million.
Vice Chairman Stephen J. Girksy was salaried a total of $5.3 million for 2011, and CFO Daniel Ammann earned $3.5 million.
