The move by GM, one of the biggest advertisers in the US, places a spotlight on an issue that lots of marketers have been raising: whether ads on Facebook assist them sell more products. On Friday, Facebook is anticipated to sell shares in an initial public offering that could put a market value on the firm of as much as $104 billion.
