Higher Outlays Lead Waste Management (NYSE:WM) to Post 16% Drop in Fiscal Q4 Profit – WM, WCN, RSG, CWST

Waste Management, Inc (NYSE:WM) reported on Thursday that fiscal Q4 earnings moved down 16 percent on firm’s higher outlays.

Results of the waste-disposal company failed to meet Wall Street forecasts and Waste Management also gave an earnings estimate for the year that is lower than Street estimates.

The Houston, Texas based Waste Management announced a profit of $224 million or 48 cents per share, compared with $266 million or 58 cents per share in previous year.

Latest quarter comprised a charge of 9 cents per-share from charges for asset impairments, legal reserves, discount rate adjustments, restructuring and integration costs. Revenue hiked 0.8% to $3.43 billion.
