Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) was sued by Intertrust Technologies Corp for allegedly violating 15 patents linked with mobile-device security.
Intertrust Technologies is a developer of digital rights management software jointly owned by Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) and Royal Philips Electronics NV.
The company reported in a complaint filed with Oakland, California federal court on Wednesday that Apple’s iPhone, the iPod touch, iPad product lines, laptop computers, Apple TV and App Store are based on secure computing technologies developed and patented by Intertrust.
Earlier, Intertrust took legal action against Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT), world’s biggest software maker, over patents.
