Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) Plans to Boost Stake in Smith Barney JV – MS, IBKR, SCHW, AMTD

Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) aims to boost its majority stake in Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Holdings LLC, inserting more 14% stake in this venture.

Morgan Stanley reported that it has informed Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) that it aims to work out its right to make the purchase on Friday. The lender reported that the price would be determined over a period of almost 90 days.

The investment bank presently has a 51% stake in the joint venture. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is a wealth management corporation who’s offers products and services comprising brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust services.
