The Redwood Shores, California based Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) aims to launch the first new version of its flagship database software in 5 years and an expanded line of high-end servers, as the company boosted its attempts to get more cloud-computing business.

Co-president at Oracle Mark Hurd reported in an interview on Friday that CEO of world’s leading software maker Larry Ellison will show the latest 12c database at its OpenWorld conference in San Francisco on Sept 30, designed for cloud computing, and more powerful systems to handle ballooning amounts of corporate data more efficiently.

In the previous 5 years, Oracle has doubled sales and lifted yearly profit by acquiring business-software corporations to challenge SAP AG (ADR) (NYSE:SAP).
