Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) Hires Robert Gates to Board of Directors- SBUX, CMG, YUM, MCD, LULU, PNRA, GMCR

Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) said on Wednesday that Robert M. Gates, former US Secretary of Defense and present chancellor of the College of William & Mary, was selected to the Starbucks Board of Directors. He will serve up on the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Howard Schultz, CEO of the Seattle coffee giant (NASDAQ: BUX) reported Starbucks was honored and humbled to have Gates, who gave services as Defense secretary below both President George W. Bush and President Obama, join the board.

(NYSE:YUM) rose +0.19%, McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) grew +0.32%, Lululemon Athletica inc. (NASDAQ:LULU) edged up +4.44%, Panera Bread Co (NASDAQ:PNRA) which also increased +0.96% and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (NASDAQ:GMCR) slipped -0.44%.

Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) stock’s trade at beginning with a price of $57.63 and throughout the trading session climbed at a high of $58.15 other than when day-trade ended the stock finally advanced 0.45% to $57.92.
