Toll Brothers (NYSE:TOL) and Actavis, Inc.’s (NYSE:ACT) on Earnings Front with Q4 Reports – TOL, ACT

Toll Brothers (NYSE:TOL) jumped back to a profit in initial quarter, but still was below Wall Street targets and shares declined ahead of the opening bell of regular Wednesday session.

For the quarter concluded on Jan. 31, the Horsham, Pa., firm announced a profit of $4.4 million, or 3 cents a share and contrasted with a loss of $2.8 million, or 2 cents a share, in the similar quarter previous year.

Revenue climbed up 32 percent to $424.6 million as compared to $322 million, as the amount of homes delivered in the quarter moved up 32 percent to 746 units. But the average price of the homes delivered slipped back less than 1 percent to $569,000 versus $571,000, affected by a consumer shift toward inexpensive homes.

Another rival company Toll Brothers (NYSE:TOL) trading down -4.17% to $35.37. Intraday trading recorded the stock price in a range of $35.34 to $36.09. In the previous 52 weeks the stock’s price ranged between $21.78 and $38.36. The current session’s volume of 652,635.00 shares was lower from their average daily trading volume of 2.95 million shares.

Actavis, Inc.’s (NYSE:ACT),previously recognized as Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., reported that its fourth quarter 2012 earnings (omitting special items) of $1.59 per share surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.53 but was 10.2% less than the 2011 earnings of $1.77 per share.

The Q4 of 2011 earnings took advantage from the launch release of its generic version of Pfizer’s (PFE) Lipitor. Sales for the announced quarter arrived at almost $1.8 billion, 13% higher as compared to the 2011 same quarter figure, topping the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.7 billion.

For last year, earnings hiked 26% from the 2011 period to $6.00 a share surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5.94 per share. Full year 2012 sales increased pumped up 29% year over year to $5.9 billion. Sales were meeting with the Zacks Consensus Estimate.

Actavis, Inc.’s (NYSE:ACT) shares in the current session moved down -0.61% reaching at $84.29. The stock traded in a range of $84.29 – $85.01. In the last year the stock has moved within a range of $57.16 – $91.47. The current session’s volume of 27,647.00 shares is lower from their average daily trading volume of 1.30 million shares.
