Toll Brothers (NYSE:TOL) Announces Higher Profit in Fourth Quarter as Orders Jumps Sharply – TOL, DHI, HOV,TEX, MDR, HON, CWST, XIN, HEK

Toll Brothers Inc (NYSE:TOL) announced a higher profit in the most recent quarter and the biggest luxury homebuilder in the United States reported that new orders moved up sharply, showing that the United States housing market is well on its path to recovery.

The company reported that net income rose to $411.4 million or $2.35 a share in the Q4 from $15.0 million or 9 cents a share in the similar period previous year. The Q4 profit comprised a net tax benefit of $350.7 million.

Toll Brothers also reported that revenue moved up 48% to $632.8 million. FactSet Research analysts survey most recently anticipated the company to earn 25 cents per share on $565.1 million of revenue.

Its competitors include D.R. Horton, Inc (NYSE:DHI) that slipped -1.29% to $19.12 with the total traded volume of 1.60 million shares and Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc (NYSE:HOV) that dropped -1.93% to $5.07 with the total traded volume of 2.17 million shares.
