Wal-Mart Stores, Inc (NYSE:WMT) reported on Friday that it has parted approaches with a public relations company whose worker was found to have caused as a reporter at an event staged by Wal-Mart opponents.
Spokesperson of retail giant Wal-Mart Steven Restivo reported in a statement that his corporation and Mercury Public Affairs had decided jointly to end their business relationship. The city records show that mercury had won $60,000 to lobby officials at Los Angeles City Hall over a planned Wal-Mart grocery in Chinatown.
Restivo stated that they take this issue seriously and have taken the right steps to make sure this type of activity was not repeated.
