Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) reported that its sales of the firm’s Model S car overtook its target specified in February, and consequently, is changing its first-quarter outlook to complete profitability both on a GAAP and non-GAAP basis.
The firm also reported that the small battery option for the Model S would not move in production owing to shortage of demand, mentioning that just 4% of customers select that battery pack.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) intends to invest 500 million yuan ($79.8 million) to restructure 50 China-based stores this year, as per reported by a company report.
The Bentonville, Ark. retailer intends to start 30 new stores in 2013 in China, the statement added, further stating that in the coming six months, store openings are predicted in cities including Xinyu in eastern Jiangxi province.
The firm also intends to invest in distribution-center networks and to enhance its warehouses in the country, the statement added.
