Prana Biotech reported progress with their PBT2 drug which is used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. The company stated that the study helps in explaining how the drug is able to restore cognition in AD suffered through repair of the affected persons brain. The tests also went on to show rapid improvement in cognition which had been previously reported in transgenic Alzheimer’s mice and in patients in a Phase 2a clinical trial. So far today Prana Biotech has traded 10.49 percent higher to $1.90 a share.
Paramount Gold and Silver Corp. reported today that new core drilling results from its Sleeper gold project in Nevada have likely shown an increased grade of the facilities zone resource and that it has confirmed the presence of gold in a new area in the Sleeper South Extension Zone. The results have helped in pushing the stock more than 9.5 percent higher today to $2.97 a share.
EZchip Semiconductor (NASDAQ:EZCH) is trading more than 3.5 percent lower today after the company was downgraded by Auriga to a ‘Hold’ rating from ‘Buy’. The firm also cut its price target on the company to $37 a share from $39 a share. Auriga cited that a review of the company’s valuation to do with pricing in growth prospects and the increased amount of competition lead it to downgrading its rating on EZchip. EZchip currently trades $33.63 a share.
