Cheniere Energy Inc. (AMEX:LNG) is trading over 46 percent higher today after it announced that it has signed a deal with BG Group PLC from the U.K. to export liquid natural gas. The deal will last 20 years and will see 3.5 million tons of natural gas sold to BG Group per year. BG stated that it is the first long-term Liquid Natural Gas purchase from a project on the gtgGulf of Mexico and will allow it to export Liquid Natural Gas to international gas markets.
Clearwire (NASDAQ:CLWR) is trading over 20 percent higher today after it was announce that it is working to extend its network sharing agreement with Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE:S) past 2012. In conference call Sprint CEO Dan Hesse stated that the company may use Clearwires network to handle traffic from customers using Long Term Evolution or LTE beginning in 2013. Earlier this month investors fled Clearwire after Sprint announced that they would stop selling devices that use WiMax which signaled that the two companies partnership would end at the end of 2012. This latest news is a confidence boost that Sprint will continue to use Clearwire services in the future.
Questcor Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:QCOR) is trading over 19 percent higher today after the company reported a net income in the third quarter that nearly doubled last years numbers. The surge in profits was attributed to a large increase in the number of prescriptions for its multiple sclerosis treatment H.P. Acthar Gel. The company earned $22.9 million, or 35 cents per share during the quarter, up from last years $11.5 million, or 18 cents per share. Revenue was $56.1 million, up from $29 million last year. Analysts on average expected earnings of 25 cents per share on revenue of $53.2 million.
