The Analyst will be responsible for being an active member of the asset management team for complex assets within a series of CRE debt-oriented investment vehicles, including first mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, real estate debt and equity securities, and other varied sophisticated credit investments.Essential FunctionsWork as a team with commercial real estate loan portfolio asset managersRequest reporting packages and updates from borrowers to complete reports and analysis, as necessaryProactively monitor local markets, real estate industry news and trends as well as specific tenant healthReview monthly loan reporting packages and summarize key metrics, changes and risksPrepare analysis of borrower and guarantor financial statementsMonitor borrower loan compliance and covenants including milestone hurdles, reporting requirements and performance metricsMonitor loan level reserves including interest, taxes, insurance and other holdbacksReview construction loan draws and project progress against milestones including working with servicers and construction consultants to ensure borrowers have achieved conditions precedent to fundingPrepare abstracts of commercial loan documentsProduce monthly and quarterly surveillance summaries and reporting for senior review which contain all relevant information related to monitoring borrower performance against business plan and compliance against loan documents as well as aggregated portfolio metricsPrepare cash flow models used for forecasting and investment performanceGenerate new reporting as necessary to monitor evolving risksExternally interact with borrowers, servicers, individual market experts and other transaction partiesMeet strict monthly and quarterly deadlinesRespond quickly and professionally to ad hoc questions requests for analysisInteract closely with Boston, MA and New York, NY teamsQualificationsMinimum of three years of related experienceFamiliarity with real estate terminology and financial statementsStrong analytical skillsAdvanced Excel skillsExceptional oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in high pressure environmentAttention to detailAbility to prioritize and multi-taskHighly motivated with a willingness to learn and pitch in where neededRequired EducationBachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in Real Estate, Business or FinanceOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
