Primary Responsibilities: Leads and manages teams with responsibility for coaching actuaries and developing student actuaries Support the Individual medical product line Work with the health plans to develop product strategy and pricing for the ACA on-exchange individual products Subject matter expert and trusted advisor for health plan leadership in ensuring that program rates are competitive, adequate and actuarially sound Lead and/or coordinate analytical efforts to support the rate setting process including competitive analysis, network analysis, risk adjustment, trend, actuarial benefit value analysis, etc. Determine the implications of these items on strategy, premiums and various product proposals Additional Projects may include: Developing actuarial models Preparing experience analyses Preparing regulatory filings Assisting in the development of financial forecasts and projections You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or related field ASA or FSA designation 5+ years of actuarial experience Prior actuarial experience in health care, specifically with experience in developing program rates and pricing methodologies Advanced or higher level of proficiency with MS Excel Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing or supervising others Proficiency with SAS and/or SQL Excellent verbal and written communication skills Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
