KWS – one of the world’s leading plant breeding companies – is looking for a Business Partner FP&A/Controlling North America located in Bloomington, MN. This role will be an essential key interaction point for the business in order to provide high-quality consulting, insight-related and knowledge-based services from a functional perspective and to improve decision making. Business Partners typically have specific business, product, market and/or customer knowledge besides strong functional know-how. This position influences and interacts with different levels of the organization within the FP&A/Controlling responsibility for legal entities and business operations in North America. Generally, the BP supports local and regional managers in implementing and executing the businesses operative and strategic targets by providing high quality KPI analysis and advice. This position manages interfaces and triggers permanent improvement of FP&A/Controlling activities around the responsibility in close cooperation with Expert Hubs, other BP teams, GTC, other related functions, and business.
Essential Job Functions
First point of contact and interface between function and Business for knowledge-based activities
Proactively consults and works with the business to solve complex issues and to develop adequate solutions. Acts as advisor and integrator
Supports business in the decision making process with adequate information, reports and analytics
Manages and support improvement projects
Ensures the definition and implementation of the functional KWS-wide strategy and strategic priorities
Supports the implementation of the functional KWS-wide policies, standards, rules and guidlines
Executes financial planning and forecasting processes in the area of responsibility, supported by the Global Transaction Center (GTC) and Expert Hub (ExH); challenges assumptions with a profound knowledge of market and business development, focusing on achieving business targets and evaluating chances and risks
Pro-actively provides high quality analyses to support manager decisions in operative and mid-long term steering of the business; pushing permanent improvement and capturing potentials
Collects and evaluates Controlling demands of the business (structure/content) and provides solutions supported by GTC and, if need be, ExH, ensuring utmost usage of standardized processes and reports
Performs regular business profitability reviews with respective managers and monitors adequate measures
Generates scenarios together with management for changed/new processes or business models
Liaises with other BP teams for intercompany and cross country/region activities
Closely cooperates with Business Unit (BU) and ExH concerning developments in the business and improvement potentials
Supports quarterly and year end closing processes according to respective processes and timelines
Keeps up to date on the relevant market developments
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (or a related field)
5+ years of experience in the field of FP&A/Controlling, experience in a shared service center environment desirable
5 years of work experience in globally acting industry environment
Willingness to travel (30%+ of time)
Project Management experience (PMP preferred) and strong organizational skills
Profound business knowledge
Experience in relevant IT systems (Microsoft, SAP FI/CO and other)
Change management experience desirable
Excellent analytical thinking and problem solver mentality
Excellent communication skills
Relationship and influence skills with high degree of diplomacy
Employment Eligibility Requirements: Ability to work in the United States without requiring Company sponsorship and must hold a valid driver’s license.
