|Job Description :
The Senior, Commercial Credit Underwriter analyzes credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in loaning money or extending credit. Scrutinizes financial data such as market share, income growth, and management quality to determine if loans will be lucrative. Provides staff support for the lending officers in serving the bank’s loan customers. Interfaces regularly with Management and Relationship Managers. Promotes the bank’s growth while protecting asset quality. Reinforces the existing credit culture through consistent application of policy and sound decision making. Has lending authority appropriate to experience and role.
Works closely with the Commercial, Credit Underwriting Supervisor to maintain an acceptable turn-around time on all loans to sustain our reputation as a service-oriented and personable community bank.
Reviews, analyzes and approves loans within their loan authority; exercises allocated lending authority independently, in conjunction with senior lenders and the Credit Underwriting Supervisor.
Provides a thorough analysis and recommendations to the Credit Underwriting Supervisor or appropriate approving authority on loans in excess of their loan authority.
Advises lenders, management and other key personnel on loan workouts.
Assists with the Watch list and Past Due Reporting process.
Reinforces the Bank’s commitment to sustaining their quality credit culture.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of all American National Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts.
Superior analytical and problem solving ability.
Ability to work independently and be assertive and decisive in making recommendations.
Ability to manage multiple projects/function at the same time.
Ability to work with other departments in a courteous and professional manner.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to establish trust and maintain productive relationships.

Proficient in computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Normal office working conditions.
Flexible working hours as needed to complete work.
Must have ability to work to pressing deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
3 years in Credit Administration / Underwriting required; 5 years or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
