Job Description : | PONDEROSA HOTEL MANAGEMENT SERVICES Position: Controller Location: Corporate Office Prescott, AZ GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsibilities include, but not limited to, oversee the daily, monthly, and long-term functions and goals of the accounting department. Works closely with Franchise companies overseeing the transaction-processing operations are done efficiently. Ensures investor reports are distributed in a timely manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Execute innovative programs to create efficiencies and keep accounting labor costs down. Manages outsourced functions with the hotel properties. General ledger analysis and accrual bookkeeping. Supervision of bookkeeping/accounting staff. Generate financial statements, monthly budget reports and the ability to create other reports as assigned. Oversee all Accounts Payable functions such as bill payment, bank deposits, credit card reconciliations, and reasonable discounts are taken. Oversees that accounts receivable are collected and posted promptly. Oversees the filing of state and local tax returns. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management. Provide for a system of supply costing reports. Assist with yearly budgets for hotels. Maintains the chart of accounts. Issue timely and complete financial statements Prepare commentaries for quarterly investor reporting. Annual K-1 reporting to investors. Prepare Income Tax documentation for CPA. Oversees Insurance policies are paid on time. Process insurance Audits Sends reports to bankers for loan compliance. Create and keep accounting schedule. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of either full charge bookkeeping or controller experience. Strong organization skills Ability to multi-task Excellent computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Excel etc.) Displays self-confidence, cheerful outlook, and enthusiasm. Able to report to and work with multiple people. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to build relationships with management and staff at hotels and other properties. Initiative-taker with little or no supervision Excellent verbal and written skills EOE M/F/V/D REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of either full charge bookkeeping or controller experience.
