Presents financial reporting and potential risk areas to Executives.DUTIES: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.Regularly assesses organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy for growth.Manages, coordinates, and prepares regular financial reporting (such as monthly profit and loss, and annual financial reporting).Directs, implements, and monitors accounting operations such as general ledger, accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll, and reporting.Oversees proper handling of company’s taxes such as proper filing of tax returns, and communication with regulatory agencies.Understands the processes that support the operation and are hands on when necessary to streamline and ensure compliance.Point of contact and administrator for accounting systems (QuickBooks).Ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures and makes recommendations to management.Manages legal and regulatory compliance for all financial functions.Responsible for the timeliness of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports; prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, investors, and other external parties.Creates, reviews, and analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.Reconciles bank and investment-related statements.Assists with coordination of annual independent audits and preparation of annual tax documents.Responsible for overseeing and handling any payment/invoicing discrepancies and/or past dues with the Suppliers/Vendors/Customers.Responsible for managing different specific customer requirements regarding billing, i.e., carrying costs, extraneous charges, etc.Responsible for credit application review and term approvals and reassessment of customers.Works with Department heads to discuss budgets, spending trends, etc.Works with Sales on customer forecasts, margins, areas to develop, etc.Works closely with Plant Manager on monthly production goals and inventory levels.Works closely with Supply Chain Manager on Purchase Order receipts and discrepancies, as well as Supplier relationships and terms.Assists Executives with job costing and analyzing work centers and profitability across all departments.Assists with hiring, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounting staff; manages schedules and workflow.Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.Assists with special projects as required.Performs other duties as assigned by manager.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.Oversees training programs and identifies training needs for the Accounting personnel.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration requiredCertified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferredStrong GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting skills requiredStrong financial modeling, budgeting, analysis skills requiredExperience in a manufacturing (food/beverage industry) preferred but not requiredProficient on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks and MRP SoftwareCommitment to excellence and high standardsAcute attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates with excellent management and supervisory skillsAbility to work with all levels of managementExcellent organizational and time management skillsGood judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm in a fast-paced environmentCapability to work with confidential and sensitive informationMust be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplaceBilingual skills a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:Calculate figures and amounts.Analyze financial and statistical dataProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Reach, twist, kneel, squat body to file and reach office equipment on your desk.Use hands and fingers to control equipment for forms of communication.
