Position Summary:

Responsible for handling all aspects of credit bureau reporting and analytics for the servicing customer portfolio. This includes the timely reporting of monthly files to all major bureaus, reconciliation and corrections to ensure compliance, and credit bureau maintenance. Conducts daily investigations and efficiently responds electronically to credit reporting disputes, providing written correspondence when necessary to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

Investigates credit reporting disputes by analyzing our records in comparison to the industry standards (Metro 2 Format) for Credit Reporting, in addition to company policies for accurate credit reporting.
Daily and timely processing of Automated Credit Dispute Verifications (ACDVs) using the web-based Metro 2 compliant, automated system.
Submits updates to the credit reporting agencies as needed, to remedy any inaccuracies.
Using internal and external systems, investigates and accurately responds to disputes in a manner that complies with the FCRA. These disputes are received directly from consumers and indirectly by the Company through Oscar (Online Solution for Complete and Accurate Reporting).
Reports possible systematic/technical issues to ensure the credit reporting process is compliant with the Metro 2 Format.
Uses letter templates to relay the organization’s decision to the consumer regarding their request.
Where appropriate, engages consumers in telephone discussions to further assess their dispute.
Responsible for quality monitoring and reviews of process and procedures; gives feedback to team members in a constructive and positive manner.
Assures all regulatory requirements are met concerning consumer interaction by explaining policies and procedures courteously and patiently.
Participates in or leads various servicing processes that may be short or long-term based on business needs and personal experience.
Requirements:

4 years knowledge of consumer laws and regulations including but not limited to FCRA, FACTA, Regulation V and UDAAP as applied to the mortgage servicing industry
MSP and relevant industry technology applications.
Bachelor’s degree and/or four (4) additional years of related experience; eight (8) years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Relevant certifications desirable; experience in the mortgage industry a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge in area of focus (Credit Reporting Compliance).
Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies.
Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint),
