If so, we may have a job for you.We are recruiting for a Director of Finance & Strategy for a family office and philanthropic foundation located in Boulder, Colorado. The foundation focuses on promoting contemplative approaches and practices to enhance self-awareness and promote compassionate, empathetic, and supportive relationships. They also develop and support programs that focus on the healthy development of children and adolescents.This is what you’ll do: · Work directly with the Founder and President to plan, analyze, and strategize around the family office and foundation.· Leverage insights from internal sources, external sources, and your network to frame strategies and initiatives across the Family Office, Foundation, its partners, and grantees.· Identify priorities for in-depth learning and evaluation across multiple organizations.· Design analyses and financial forecasts that provide actionable insights, support compliance oversight, and improve decision-making.· Engage with and build relationships with external support partners (bankers, lawyers, tax advisors, investment advisors) to facilitate the family’s human, intellectual, and financial capital growth.· Supporting the foundation program team to implement effective program and grant recommendations.· Construct, implement, and evaluate strategic plans for internal projects and organizations and support the strategic planning process for some grantees.· Initiate, complete quantitative and qualitative due diligence, and recommend grant proposals within the foundation’s focus areas.· Investigate and research tax, finance, and accounting strategies for implementation by the family office.· Conduct investigative research to improve philanthropic funding decisions, inform the field of philanthropy, support grantees’ work, or support the work of the Founder and President.· Support the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Accounting and Compliance.· Manage the insurance and risk assessment work.· Lead the semi-annual Trustee meetings for the family office.Additionally, the ideal Director of Finance and Strategy possesses most of the following qualities: · Is a systems-thinker who can see connections between projects· Has a strong interest in the field of philanthropy beyond grantmaking· Has experience managing, coordinating, and summarizing technical projects with accounting, finance, and legal focuses.· Is open and excited by new ideas and projects and enthusiastically jumps in· Easily engages with and adapts to new technology· Is comfortable working with Board of Directors, Trustees, and Beneficiaries· Is comfortable working in a small team and actively seeks to engage others in the discovery process of a project· Understands their capacity and is willing to ask for help· Is looking to make a long-term commitment to an organization and ready to deeply engage in its work· Has an appreciation and growing interest in their spirituality· Is optimistic, curious, and funThis is what is required for the position. . .· 10+ years in a senior management position with financial planning oversight.· Experience working in philanthropy.· Is an exceptional writer.· Able to work 3 days a week from our Boulder, CO office and 2 days per week remotely if desired· Is vaccinated against COVID and will update vaccinations as recommended.· Curiosity about your spirituality and growth.· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, relationships, and workflows.Job Type: Full-timePay: $150,000.00 – $170,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Boulder, CO 80301: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
