Applicants can upload resumes using the following link: https://explore.jobs.ufl.edu/en-us/job/520671/director-of-financeJob DescriptionCollege Budget and Financial ManagementResponsible for financial management and operations including coordination of annual budget efforts for the college, review all departmental budget requests, allocation of funds, and UF Foundation accounts.Provide fiscal analysis and feedback for the college strategic planWork regularly with UF Core offices to ensure the college is informed of University-wide updatesOversee budgeted funds for the college including State, DOCE, Overhead, Grants, and Foundation accounts.Monitor and reconcile funding sources and balances for the college with regular communication to applicable stakeholdersMonitor financial transactions for compliance with applicable accounting regulations and best practices. Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures. Perform regular compliance testing and audits of college business units.Track and manage encumbered funds for commitments that extend across multiple fiscal yearsEvaluate, develop, and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline financial workflows.Meet with key college stakeholders on a regular basis to receive feedback and provide updates.Develop and maintain financial policies for the college.Serve as Department Security Administrator (DSA)Oversight of Financial Service TeamsOversight of fiscal staff from Disbursements Team, P-Card Team, Research Administration Team, Reporting and Reconciliation Team, and General Accounting Team.Meet with financial service teams on a regular basis to provide support, feedback, and guidance.Work with financial service teams to develop and maintain standardized onboarding, training, and workflows.Ensure financial service teams are providing a high-level of customer service through regular communication, consistent workflows, and timely responses. A service level expectation should be established with stakeholders to determine performance benchmarks.Work on process improvement to ensure the financial services team are efficient and provide an optimal experience for end-users.ReportingDevelop and update regular financial reports for college leadership and stakeholders. Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests by college leadership and stakeholders. Development of reports may include in house reporting or working with UF IT partners.Development, management, and curation of various financial reports. Examples include reports on actuals to budget, faculty specific balances, commitments, research administration, projections, reserves, and UF Foundation accounts.Work with financial service teams to provide and present regular reports for research accounts to stakeholders.Run effort compliance reports and work with departments to ensure effort reporting is completed accurately and on time.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.To be considered for this position please apply to the University of Florida website.
