The role is within Wealth Management in the Alternative Investments Business supporting products such as hedge funds, digital assets, private equity, private credit and private real estate. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest alternative investments platforms in the industry and it is one of the fastest growing segments of the firm. The Alternative Investments Client Reporting Fund Activity Team is responsible for processing client capital call, distribution and dividend transactions across the alternative investments platform. This role will manage a team of 15+ individuals who process client transactions that are delivered to the firm from hundreds of third-party asset managers and fund administrators. This information is provided in various formats and must be interpreted by the Client Reporting team to ensure that is processed correctly in client accounts. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Financial Advisors and clients expect these transactions to be processed accurately and on a timely basis. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our Alternative Investments client reporting meets the expectations of our most high-profile Financial Advisors and clients. QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s DegreeIdeal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant finance industry experienceSupervisory experience strongly preferred and securities licensing (Series 7 or 99) requiredStrong operational background is required and prior alternative investments experience is desiredProficiency in Microsoft Office with a particular strength in Microsoft Excel is requiredAbility to lead a team of Vice Presidents, Associates and Analysts and other individuals to stated organizational objectivesAbility to critically assess process for optimization and the organization skills to drive continuous improvement to underlying function setAbility to ensure process consistency and adherence to all procedural guidelines set forth for a processAbility to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environmentFirm understanding of the importance of accuracy in quality of work/downstream impactsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with senior managementStrong reasoning and problem-solving skills and ability to think and act like an ownerEfficient time management skills / ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks that team is involved withHigh level of organizational skills and attention to detail |
