The role is within Wealth Management in the Alternative Investments Business supporting products such as hedge funds, digital assets, private equity, private credit and private real estate. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest alternative investments platforms in the industry and it is one of the fastest growing segments of the firm. The Alternative Investments Client Reporting Position Valuations Team is responsible for updating client’s alternative investment positions across the platform. This role will manage a team of 20+ individuals who process the position valuation information that is delivered to the firm from hundreds of third-party asset managers and fund administrators. The position valuation information provided by the funds is delivered in various formats and must be interpreted by the Client Reporting team to ensure that is processed correctly in client accounts. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Financial Advisors and clients expect position valuation information to be displayed accurately and on a timely basis. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our Alternative Investments client reporting meets the expectations of our most high-profile Financial Advisors and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant finance industry experience
Supervisory experience strongly preferred and securities licensing (Series 7 or 99) required
Strong operational background is required and prior alternative investments experience is desired
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a particular strength in Microsoft Excel is required
Ability to lead a team of Vice Presidents, Associates and Analysts and other individuals to stated organizational objectives
Ability to critically assess process for optimization and the organization skills to drive continuous improvement to underlying function set
Ability to ensure process consistency and adherence to all procedural guidelines set forth for a process
Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment
Firm understanding of the importance of accuracy in quality of work/downstream impacts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with senior management
Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills and ability to think and act like an owner
Efficient time management skills / ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks that team is involved with
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
