Job Opening for Equity Research Data Engineer – ETL Specialist in Jefferies & Company, Inc. (520 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10022)

Position Overview:
Jefferies is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Strategy team within Equity Research. We are looking for a candidate with 2-5 years of experience in a Data Engineer role, preferred a graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.

Job Responsibilities:
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
Help onboarding and evaluation of new data vendors
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
Develop processes for automating, testing, and deploying your work
Collaborating with other technical team members to build integrated solutions.
Provide technical support to end users

Qualifications

Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge of ETL and data integration frameworks
Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL, familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Spark
Hands-on experience with PySpark is highly desired
Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g. AWS S3, AWS Athena, AWS Glue)

Additional preferred skills:
Experience in Financial Services industry
Ability to work collaboratively
Experience using Databricks environment
Capable of troubleshooting complex problems
Able to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in a strategic, quantitative is desirable.
