Job Description : The Northwest Regional Re-entry Center (NWRRC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which has been in continuous operation since 1964. We operate a 150-plus bed residential re-entry center and provide transitional services to offenders re-entering society from incarceration, for probation clients serving sanctions for violations of their supervised release, and for those under community restoration orders. The NWRRC’s mission and purpose is to support, educate and encourage our residents to do the work necessary, to develop and implement an Individualized Program Plan, that guides them in the successful transition back into their communities, including finding functional support systems, employment and housing, without reoffending. The plans are based on the resident’s unique circumstances, including what part of the federal, state or local jurisdiction is responsible for their referral to us. While a resident is in our program we are also committed to assuring constant supervision, providing structure for accountability, engaging them with social-emotional based, life skills learning activities and as a result protecting the community.Position: We are seeking an individual with a passion for working with others on fulfilling our mission and providing high quality service to fill a full time and exempt Finance Director position. Our current Finance Director has been with the organization for almost 10 years and is retiring.The Finance Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial functions of the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, audit management, cash and investment management, budgeting, financial reporting, contract management, and fiscal policy and procedures. The Finance Director presents financial information to Board of Directors and other key stakeholders. The Finance Director also manages purchasing, vendor, banking, and contractor relationships. The Finance Director works closely with NWRRC department supervisors and other management staff.Unlike most non-profits, NWRRC receives revenues from several government agencies on a fee-per-service basis. The organization is not significantly involved in grants and other traditional non-profit finance activities.Responsibilities: Financial: Maintains general ledger and all financial recordsDevelops and monitors budgets, investments, cash position, and financial statementsFinancial reporting to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholdersPrepare payables and check run on biweekly basisDesign and implement internal controlsEnsures that all financial records are within generally accepted accounting practicesReconciles accounts and prepares monthly and year end closing activitiesContract reporting, invoicing, and compliance monitoringManage annual audit and work with CPA firm in preparation of annual information returnsNegotiates and tracks costs of employee benefits plans, including medical, dental, retirement, EAP, and supplementaryGeneral: Serves as key member of management leadership teamAdvises Director in all matters of executive level decision making as requested including organizational visioning, strategic planning, personnel actions, risk management analysis and other high level organizational issues.Maintain insurance policies and incident reporting to insurersServes as back up to HR with payroll systems including electronic timecard system and backup to prepare payroll biweekly in partnership with third party processorQualifications: Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university is required, MBA or CPA preferred.Experience: Must have 3+ years managing the accounting and financial operations of an organization including experience with the “hands on” entry of accounting information. The position requires knowledge of GAAP and best practices in nonprofit finance. Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks is required. Prior supervisory or work leadership experience is preferred.Skills required: Excellent attention to detail with accuracy in data entry and records maintenance; ability to analyze and make sound recommendations on complex financial or personnel data; excellent judgment and discretion with regard to confidential data; able to clearly articulate financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences; must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively at all levels of the organization; excellent oral and written communications and problem solving skills; moves easily between strategic planning, visioning and job specific tasks.Availability: Ability to meet the demands of the facility and available to work on short notice. This position is typically Monday through Friday and is regular business hours at the facility, in person.COVID-19 Vaccination: All staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This is defined as two weeks after your second dose of a 2-dose vaccination or two weeks after your first dose of a single dose vaccination. Proof of vaccination is required.Clearance: Must successfully pass a Federal background check, state background check, and drug screening to work in a facility with Federal offenders. The use of/testing positive for any mind-altering substance, including marijuana, is a disqualifier.Operational Discretion & Impact: The Finance Director shall have full discretion to perform all daily operations in financial management and procurement with oversight by the Director and Assistant Director. Internal control procedures and the “management team” concept in place at NWRRC require communication regarding all transactions and actions not deemed routine.The Finance Director is a critical member of the NWRRC executive management team. The ethical and due diligent conduct of this office greatly impacts both the operational success and the professional reputation of NWRRC.Benefits: We offer great benefits and perks. Here are some highlights on what we offer:Pay: Industry-competitive wages and the potential for generous merit-based increases and annual cost of living adjustments (COLAs). The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.Medical, dental and vision: NWRRC pays 100% of the premium cost for the staff member, which is a value of up to $673 monthly. Health insurance begins the first of the month following date of hire.Retirement: NWRRC offers an employer-funded SEP-IRA retirement plan. After 1 year, staff receive a 7% employer contribution into their account on a quarterly basis.Time off: All fulltime staff receive and accrue 18 days (3.6 weeks) of paid vacation time and accrue 12 days of sick time annually, to start.Tuition Assistance: Staff who are working on a degree or certificate in a related field of study can apply for this program. NWRRC will cover up to 50% of eligible tuition and course fees.Fitness: We will pay staff up to $50 monthly for going to the gym/exercising.Free Meal: Staff who work over meal service can eat for free from our cafeteria.
