| Job Description : | The second member of a two-person department, finance manager works closely with the director to perform financial functions and ensure budget adherence by all functional units. Essential duties include assisting with organizing, preparing, and analyzing annual budget at County of Blair; assisting with monitoring office budgets, expenditures, and purchases, and with generating budget status reports for users’ review; producing reports on grant expenditures and remaining balances; assisting with budget transfers; receiving and depositing checks in appropriate accounts; preparing invoices for billing; making entries in fixed asset ledger; maintaining and monitoring fleet credit card program; reconciling certain bank accounts; preparing income statements; and answering questions. Requirements Qualified candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or hold the equivalent combination of education and experience; possess at least three years’ experience in accounting; one year of public-sector accounting is preferred, and experience with MUNIS accounting software is a plus. Applicants should also have a suitable knowledge of accounting principles, and demonstrated skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
