||The Ideal Candidate
The Financial Systems Manager leads the department responsible for the design, development, modification, and implementation of the core Financial Systems of the Company (PeopleSoft, Opentext Document Management, Lucernex Lease Administration), with an added emphasis on applying Robotic Process Automation (“RPA”) to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes across the enterprise. This position includes leading projects, managing vendor relationships, understanding upstream and downstream integrations and dependencies, and owning technical change management, compliance, and controls. Key success factors include: leadership ability to supervise and manage work activities of direct reports as well as individuals from the user area, other areas of IT, and outside consultants; a high-level of logical, analytical, and collaborative problem-solving skills and the desire to continually learn; a demonstrated understanding of the Retail/eCommerce business for Journeys and Johnston & Murphy; a demonstrated understanding of the Genesco wholesale businesses.
How You Will Make an Impact
Management of personnel responsible for enhancement, break/fix, integration and implementation of new and existing technology
Accountability for budgeting, managing expenses, and employee development.
System-wide/cross-functional team management, determining priorities for team members to drive results and fulfill commitments.
Manage planning and delivery of projects, programs, system enhancements and process automations across multiple system architectures, including Peoplesoft Financials and Blue Prism RPA platform.
Responsibility for management of vendor relationships in On-Prem and SaaS environments.
Plans and manages integration and implementation of new technology.
Lead subject matter expert, who provides direction for entire project or a project team.
Responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems for several projects.
Highest level of influence on end-user and internal customer.
Consults with colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
Creates and delivers data-driven reports as needed.
Investigates and develops skills in new technologies.
Develops and improves strategic processes to ensure efficient workflow.
Communicate clearly and effectively with all relevant stakeholders regarding planned and ongoing initiatives.
Sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems.
Routinely reports project status to senior management.
Recruit, select, train, and retain staff members. Ensure learning and development of team members meets current and emerging needs.
Experience and Skills You’ll Need to Have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems.
8-10 years of relevant technical experience.
5+ years of experience with Financial Systems projects and technology management.
2+ years of experience leading a team.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills in order to collaborate effectively with partners both inside and outside the enterprise.
Strong knowledge of Accounting and Financial processes in retail, wholesale, and corporate contexts.
Hands-on experience with Unix scripting, PL/SQL, or Python preferred.
Experience with RPA platform (Blue Prism) preferred.
Ability to understand database structures in supporting systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Office and Microsoft Excel as communication tools.
Must be well-organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
Able to prioritize and provide timely resolution to issues.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.
On-call duty required. Some travel may be required.
