Position: Investment Operations Associate
Location: Bethlehem, PA
General Position Summary:
Provides internal support for institutional and high net worth clients for registered investment advisory services. Processes new business documentation and assists Sales Consultants in preparing for client review meetings. Responsible for the continued servicing of all annuity, brokerage and fee-based accounts. Provides backup support to other Investment Operations staff.
Essential Functions/Major Duties:
Prepares documentation for new institutional and high net worth client accounts for clients, including variable and fixed annuities. Includes follow through on account set up, account numbers, transfer of assets and portfolio implementation.
Ensures all paperwork conforms to regulatory requirements.
Places trades on custodian platforms per analyst recommendation or at advisor’s or client’s request.
Interacts frequently with team members, clients, custodians and trustees. Contacts are made with others both inside and outside the company. Contacts most always contain confidential or sensitive information necessitating discretion at all times.
Assists Sales Consultants with requests regarding client information.
Calculates and processes annual IRA distributions.
Completes special projects or performs additional tasks as necessary.
Secondary Functions:
Receives and disperses client checks to appropriate vendor or custodian.
Facilitates transfers of cash and securities for clients.
Generates client proposals using financial software.
Serves as a backup for generating quarterly performance for fee-based accounts
Requirements:
Investment and/or financial planning operations experience required (or equivalent from other industry)
Familiarity with financial planning software and/or concepts strongly preferred
FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Willingness to obtain additional FINRA registrations as necessary
