Job Description : Junior Underwriting AssistantA South Charlotte financial planning and insurance group is seeking a junior level underwriter assistant to assist new clients with enrollment in desired plans.This person will provide support to facilitate the underwriting process for life and disability insurance applications submitted by financial advisors/agents/brokers. This includes preparing client files for review, entering records into system, and communicating with vendors.Pay up to $50,000- Bonus Pay- and unlimited PTO!Responsibilities: Perform initial review of submitted life and disability insurance applicationsInput case into agency management system for permanent record of businessManage the entire application process from submission to the placement of the policyAct as primary contact for all case processing & underwriting inquiries of assigned advisorsValidate agent licensing and appointment for business submittedUpload all case documents as attachmentsLog in correspondence between home office, case manager and agentsSubmit good order applications to insurance carriers via secure deliveryOrder paramedical exams required by carrier for underwriting decisionTrack completion of exams and forward to insurance carrier for reviewFollow-up weekly on requests for medical records to ensure timely completionProcess issued life and disability insurance policies for mailing to financial advisors/agentsSend follow up notices to financial advisors/agents/brokers until delivery requirements are completedReview and submit delivery requirements to insurance carrierProcess various policy service requestsEstablish a deep understanding of all aspects of our business, customer requirements, and service expectationsSet up medical exams and obtain additional requirements as neededManage a variety of responsibilities with constantly changing prioritiesRetain and recall detailed and complex regulatory informationPreferred Skills/Experience:1-3 years experience in case management, insurance, and administrative workBachelor’s DegreeWorking knowledge of Office 365 (especially Word and Excel)Able to patiently explain procedures and concepts to advisors/agents at various levels of expertiseA good listener, with the ability to ask probing questions, and present solution to complex situationsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environmentStrong attention to detailHigh sense of urgency, persistent and proactiveMust be comfortable with prioritizing when presented with multiple challengesTeam player who works effectively in an entrepreneurial environmentJob Type: Full-timePay: Up to $50,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payWork Location: One location
