How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:
The Learning and Development Specialist develops and conducts specialized training programs for employees within a specific Brighthouse Financial organization. The L&D Specialist is responsible for analyzing training needs as explained by the business, developing curriculum, and delivering programs. A successful professional in this role will act as an extension of the organization they support.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and deliver training programs for individuals within assigned line of business
Coordinate training schedules and develop basic project plans with the assigned department
Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops
Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works
Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
Assist employees with problems concerning how to perform specific tasks related to their positions
Make suggestions on improving work procedures
Develop strong relationships with internal customers to develop course materials and receive feedback
Lead and coordinate training efforts with vendor partners to align company programming
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Minimum of 3-5 years insurance industry experience preferred, including but not limited to Underwriting and Operations
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
FINRA Registration of SIE and Series 6 license are required within six months of employment
Basic knowledge of adult learning principles
In-person, virtual, and hybrid facilitation skills for effective training delivery
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences
Demonstrated basic project management skills with the ability to plan, identify, coordinate, and track critical activities, milestones, and deliverables
Demonstration of executive poise and presence to inspire others and make smart decisions by virtue of apparent composure, talent, and maturity
Ability to deliver effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences by transmitting messages with clarity, interacting and engaging, and interpreting and understanding the mindsets of the listeners
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Articulate and Qualtrics experience preferred
LMS system capabilities experience preferred
eLearning software experience preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Base salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results
Time Off: Minimum of 20 days of paid time off and 13 paid company holidays per full calendar year, plus paid volunteer time
