||Now Hiring OPERATIONS FINANCE MANAGERKent, WAThe Oberto Finance team is an integrated part of the business, not a detached corporate function. Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance and quantitative analysis, an ability to think critically, problem solve, and an aptitude to learn new systems.This position will collaborate with our operational production and logistics teams to deliver timely insights that improves our cost structure and customer service without compromising on safety or quality. In addition to being responsible for plant financial reporting, this position oversees the processing of variance analysis, yield calculations, physical inventory recording, efficiency reporting, and other operational information related to plant performance. Ensures that all information reported is both timely and accurate and that proper accounting principles and practices are followed.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor manufacturing variances and related exception reporting to promptly identify key variances from standard costs. Works with manufacturing business partners to identify root causes and review recommendations with operations management to reduce or eliminate key variances. Areas of analysis include but are not limited to MUV, over pack, film waste, labor rate, and labor efficiency actual vs standard.Provide thought leadership and insight on achievement of plant key performance metrics with a strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.Participate as a valued team member in manufacturing plant(s) meetings and cost saving initiatives by providing financial support.Produce the weekly flash report for the manufacturing variance forecast.Develop understanding of product manufacturing, staffing, and operating processes and how initiatives will influence profitability and margin improvement.Provide periodic presentations of manufacturing data and analysis to plant leadership.Analyze, understand, budget, forecast, and explain the reasons for movement in all manufacturing costs including month and year to date comparisons to budget, forecast, and prior year.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, lending technical and analytical expertise for the development of labor efficiencies, rates, and overhead. Provides analysis and input into direct and indirect labor budgeting.Build financial models to better budget and forecast manufacturing expenses such as Utilities or Repair & Maintenance and identify opportunities and risks to achieving budgeted results.Develop and maintain policies and procedures to create a strong internal controls environment and educate business partners.Improve data collection methods/accuracy for improved reporting.Support Corporate ESG reporting.Train and develop direct reports to boost their understanding of company operations and provide business partners with excellent financial analysis and problem-solving support.Ensure that all information reported is both timely and accurate and that proper accounting principles and practices are followed.EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field required.MBA preferred.CPA and or CMA Verification a plus.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant in-depth experience in process cost accounting in a multi-plant environment or significant experience in financial for a consumer packaged goods company.2+ years Leadership and management experience of accounting staff in a high-growth environment.Experience working with and extracting data from ERP (QAD preferred).Experience with Corporate Performance Management, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence systems a plus.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong technical skills/agility with a variety of systems.Knowledge and proficiency of MS Word and Excel required.Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, finance, and product costing.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent technical skills including proficiency with MS Office and Business Intelligence.Must have initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work in a demanding, high stress environment balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.Able to work cooperatively with others as well as independently.Ability to influence cross-functional team members.Able to speak, read and write in English.ABOUT OBERTO: We offer a creative environment filled with other talented people.
