ROLE PURPOSE
Primary responsibility encompasses GGS solutions sold to North American financial institutions. The Product Manager is responsible for specific products targeted for the primary markets. Broad functional responsibilities include market awareness, product expertise, product planning & development, sales readiness, and support. Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers as needed. The purpose of this position is to deliver the right product marketing mix and support to equip the sales team and GGS for success.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Expertise & Development
Responsible for managing the internal and external resources to develop, implement and manage the product launch plans through successful commercialization of new products.
Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of multiple product launches from concept to revenue generation to end of life
Review existing technologies and their effectiveness to meet business needs in assigned markets.
Mastery of all product categories and market applications. Serve as contact point for regional opportunities and requirements.
Interact with Production, Engineering or other global functions as appropriate to communicate VOC, product needs, concept or analysis, quality concerns, specification requirements or other region-specific requirements.
Provide support to sales and service for product issues, questions and problem resolution.
Identify and document new opportunities for existing products and opportunities for new product development.
Provide support for major sales efforts
Market Awareness
Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, surveys and customer/prospect visits to understand and specify business requirements.
Maintain competitive surveillance for assigned markets. Collect information and intelligence and collaborate with team on analysis of data.
Conduct Win/Loss reports, SWOT and other analysis to glean insight from previous experience and effectively position product.
Assist Marketing and Sales teams with RFP’s and gathering customer requirements as needed.
Attend and staff retail and industry trade shows as directed.
Product Planning
Collaborate with other internal/external resources to develop, implement, and manage product launch plans through successful commercialization of new products.
Support cross functional team by supplying pricing direction, new product launch strategies, and product positioning and value propositions.
Implement product performance monitoring for assigned products (format TBD).
Lead efforts to complete special reports and projects related to assigned markets and products as directed.
Participate in the idea generation and development of new products and solutions
Sales Readiness
Partner with marketing in the creation of collateral and user documentation that accurately reflects the features/benefits of the products in assigned markets.
Support the development of responses to RFPs and RFIs from the sales team in assigned markets.
Develop internal sales tools for the Financial Industry market and the products targeted to that market.
Ensure utilization of SalesEDGE, keeping it current and relevant for our people to find high quality information.
As directed, support sales force and business consultant readiness training. Establish “on boarding” product training for new sales personnel for non-financial markets.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field and /or equivalent experience
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of progressive experience in product or brand management and an in-depth knowledge of the following functional areas: New Product Development; Product Marketing; and Project Management.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make a vision a reality
Basic aptitude for mechanical engineering
Advanced skills in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Excellent collaborative and problem-solving skills, ability to create and implement innovative solutions to problems
Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in time management to handle deadline pressures and multiple assignment and clients simultaneously
Self-disciplined, self-starter, high motivated, strong ability to develop effective teams and be a significant contributing member through hands on execution
Must be process focused and able to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion
Industry experience desirable
