We are seeking a Senior Proposal Writer within PNC’s Institutional Asset Management organization. This role allows you to be based within multiple locations throughout the PNC footprint. (Position may have the ability to work from home.)

The “Request for Proposals” (RFP) Response Team within PNC’s Institutional Asset Management (IAM), strategically develops new business and retention opportunity proposals for OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer), defined benefit, fiduciary investment services, custody, and planned giving. This includes collaborating with product owners, as well as business development officers and/or investment advisors to determine and understand the prospect/client’s unique needs and expectations to ensure proposals are accurate and targeted, managing the proposal process and timeline to meet prospect-driven deadlines and established internal service level agreements, and working closely with legal and compliance to mitigate risks.

A Senior Proposal Writer responds to comprehensive RFPs (Request for Proposals) for new client acquisition, growth of client relationships, and retention of existing client relationships for all supported business units. Determines appropriate base content to draft proposals. Composes custom and tailored content for solicited proposals to provide a solution on behalf of a client in clear, concise, and compelling language.

Ideal candidate will possess the following:

Typically 3+ years of relevant experience and university/college degree in related field of study.
Bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism/Professional Writing or related field
Verbal & Written Communication skills with a focus on informative and persuasive writing – in-depth/expert
Time management skills – in-depth/expert
Project management skills – in depth/expert
Collaboration & team skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration

Job Description

Responds to comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new client acquisition, growth of client relationships, and retention of existing client relationships for all supported business units. Determines appropriate base content to draft proposals. Composes custom and tailored content for both solicited and proactive proposals to perform work/provide a solution on behalf of a client in clear, concise, and compelling language.
Leads the market team, as a project manager, through the production and review processes as he/she composes client-centric proposal packages that align with the teams vision, the business strategy, and the prospects needs and requirements.
Maintains a high level of knowledge of supported products and services by participating in training sessions, reviewing internal and external communications and applying this knowledge to development of requests for proposal/requests for information.
Identifies and manages inherent risk associated with development and distribution of requests for proposal/requests for information in a highly regulated and competitive industry
Undertakes self-education on technology and tools through training modules, attending conferences, web-exes and other available resources.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
