Overview: **This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement: a blended schedule of in-office and work-from-home.** Risk is present in all Patelco’s activities and effective risk management is a critical component of the credit union’s success. Through application of its risk framework and the continuous identification and assessment of risk, Patelco seeks to ensure that all our businesses operate inside of established limits, can proactively quantify exposures, and take corrective action when required. The Risk Analyst this position interacts with business managers and other credit union disciplines to understand business operations and dynamics, and analyze, monitor, and manage related risks. The Risk Analyst will be responsible for developing dynamic risk assessments and audit work programs to guide independent and objective assurance activities across the credit union. The Risk Analyst will maintain a risk intelligence inventory of qualitative and quantitative resources and will synthesize the inventory into actionable intelligence to guide the prioritization of auditable entities. The Risk Analyst partners across in implementation and application of the enterprise-wide GRC application that is used for business continuity, vendor management, compliance management, and more. Responsibilities: Achieve a deep understanding of the credit union strategy and aligns risk assessments with business units and functional objectives to promote thinking about risk from both an operating and strategic perspective. Manage the identification and assessment of enterprise risks, including strategic, operational, and key initiative risks, and works with the appropriate functional risk units and project teams to balance these risks with rewards and develop action plans to enhance the probability that desired objectives will be achieved. Drive the risk assessment process associated with strategic decisions across the enterprise and emerging risks to ensure enterprise risks are monitored as conditions change. Establish collaborative relationships with key business owners to assist in the development, assessment, and monitoring of mitigation plans for enterprise risks to ensure all risks are managed to an acceptable level. Identify, evaluate, and escalate issues that conflict with the credit union risk tolerances and develop KRIs for each business unit to ensure timely monitoring. Support the development and ongoing production of risk management reporting and presentations for meetings with leadership and relevant risk committees. Improve actual loss tracking by collaborating with the business units to establish consistent reporting of actual losses and clear understanding of expected and unexpected loss components. Produce periodic and ad-hoc risk analytic reports to management and other related committees. Partner across in implementation and application of the enterprise-wide GRC application that is used for business continuity, vendor management, compliance management, and more. Support Patelco’s on-going Business Continuity Program by participating in scheduled assessments, information gathering, report generation and maintenance of the main systems used Functional Competencies Build reports, dashboards, and scorecards that successfully communicate actionable conclusions to executive management. Gather and skillfully analyze information and make recommendations to business partners. Demonstrate solid judgment, problem solving, and independent decision-making skills. Apply knowledge and experience to develop solutions in partnership with leaders of the credit union. Communicate effectively internally and externally; assist in communications and presentations with management and committees. Plan and organize work to drive timely outcome achievement. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other applicable discipline or equivalent experience required. 2+ years’ experience in Risk Management 3+ years’ experience in the Financial Services industry is preferred. Certifications such as FRM, CRM, PRM, CERA, etc. are a plus. Solid Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
