Job Description : Senior Director of Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting (REMOTE with quarterly travel)Our client, a publicly-traded company with international operations, is seeking a Senior Director of Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting to join their Accounting/Finance team. This is a remote role with required travel to the company headquarters (located in Nevada) approximately two weeks per quarter, in which the company will pay the associated expenses for such travel.The Senior Director of Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting will be responsible for leading and managing the preparation and coordination of all external financial reporting requirements, including SEC reporting, compliance and review of the XBRL process, and other financial and governmental statutory reporting. In addition, the Senior Director of Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting will be responsible for accounting research and resolution of complex accounting issues, new accounting guidance and reporting governance application and implementation, and the monitoring and updating of financials controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley. In addition, this position will also assist executive management with the development and implementation of global accounting policies and various special projects. This role oversees a department consisting of 5-6 employees including a manager.Responsibilities include:Lead and manage the preparation of SEC filings (including 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, 8-Ks), earnings related materials and other investor presentationsEnsure compliance with iXBRL requirementsImplement process improvements and automation related to the consolidation and financial reporting cycleAnalyzing corporate initiatives and complex transactions to ensure accounting implications of actions being considered are understood by the decision makersManage multiple financial projects simultaneously and time sensitiveRecognize, research and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues, including but not limited to SEC reporting rules and regulation, revenue recognition, impairment analysis, equity compensation accounting, capitalized costs, lease accounting, purchase accountingAssess the impact of new accounting standards and reporting governance standards and lead the development of related implementation strategies as requiredOversee the design, monitoring and maintenance of financial controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes OxleyServe as a key contact to internal and external auditors related to periodic operational, SOX, and financial auditsParticipates/leads periodic training sessions, including debriefing senior management on new technical developmentsRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, Master’s degree a plusCurrent CPA license required12+ years of financial reporting/technical accounting experience required, including the combination of public accounting and corporate financial reporting experience, 4+ years’ Big 4 CPA experience highly preferredExtensive knowledge and experience in US GAAP, software capitalization, lease accounting, revenue recognition, consolidation, stock-based accounting, SOX regulations and financial controls.Prior experience with mergers, acquisitions and purchase accounting requiredExperience with a financial reporting platform highly preferredAbility to demonstrate strong leadership abilities including the ability to motivate others to get accurate results under a time-pressured deadlinesAbility to develop and maintain a high performing teamTeam-oriented professional who supports and promotes a team effort and celebrates team successesCompensation:Base salary $180,000- $215,000+ depending on experience/qualifications, 20%-25% annual target bonus and eligible for company’s equity program.Job Type: Full-timePay: $180,000.00 – $215,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payApplication Question(s):Are you willing to travel to Nevada every quarter for up to 2 weeks (at company’s expense)Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:SEC reporting/Technical Accounting: 10 years (Required)Public Accounting: 4 years (Required)License/Certification:CPA (Required)Work Location: Remote
